An unbelievable story unfolds here. The merry-looking, middle-aged man (in the middle on the right), had an affair with a farmer's wife, and apparently paid the farmer ten yen to take her as his wife. Simultaneously he got the peasant's father to marry his old mother, and the peasant's daughter to marry his son.
