Welcome to the Library

Waseda University Library is one of the most extensive private university libraries in the country. The library has a long history begun in 1882 when the University was originally founded as Tokyo Senmon Gakko.

Waseda University Library consists of 27 libraries including the Central library, Campus Libraries, and School Libraries or reading rooms for students.

Kotenseki Sogo Database - Japanese & Chinese Classics
Kotenseki Sogo Database provides detailed description and high-quality digitized images of rare materials held at the Library including Rangaku (Western Studies) Collection.


Privileges

Student/Faculty ID cards are required when entering libraries, borrowing library materials, and using other library services.
While many libraries are open to all students and faculty, some have limited access policies.

Computers in the Libraries

Computers with access to the Internet are available in various locations. Some libraries offer wireless access and laptop connections.
