Outline NEWS: New interface "RefWorks 2.0" is available.
On October 29th, 2011 "RefWorks 2.0" became the default interface. it will remain possible to switch back to "RefWorks Classic" until the end of Mach, 2012. After that "RefWorks 2.0" will be the only interface available. Some problems with the new version of RefWorks are found but they will be solved by then. (2012.2.10)

RefWorks is a Web-based bibliography and database manager that allows you to create your own personal database by importing references from text files or online databases. You can use these references in writing papers and automatically format the paper and the bibliography in seconds.

How to use
  • Registration (using for the first time)
    When you create your own personal RefWorks account, you must be at a computer connected to the University network. Please make sure your screen says "Waseda University".
    1. Click on "Sign up for a New Account".
    2. Fill out all the information and then click the "Create Account" button.
      * Use your Waseda-net e-mail address.
    3. You will receive an e-mail confirmation which includes a Group Code and other login information. (When you log in to RefWorks from off-campass, you will need this Group Code.)

    • How to access with a Group Code
      1. Access http://www.refworks.com/refworks
      2. Enter the Group Code and click "Login" button.
      3. After reaching the next screen, enter your registered login name, password, and click the "Login" button.

Notes
  • Eligible Users： RefWorks is available to current Waseda University students, faculty, and staff. (Students of Waseda University Senior High School, students of Waseda University Honjo High School, Students of Art and Architecture School and Students of Kawaguchi Art School of Waseda University are not eligible.)
  • If you forgot the Group Code, select a link that says "Forgot your password?" at the login screen. Enter your e-mail address that you used when registering for your RefWorks account. Your login information including the Group Code will be mailed to you.
  • The Group Code will be updated regularly.
  • The service does not guarantee backup of data. We recommend you to take backup in regular basis.
  • The attachment feature is not available for Waseda users.
  • If you use the Firefox 3.6 installed on most of the computers in the waseda campuses, "output style manager" in the "Create Bibliography" can not be used. Please use other browsers, such as Internet Explorer.

  • RefWorks after Graduation
    When you graduate or leave Waseda University, you will no longer have access to the Waseda University's RefWorks subscription. You can convert your account to an individual subscription. You can also export your reference data in several formats using one of RefWorks Export options.
