Regarding the Use of S. Takata Memorial Research Library by Undergraduates

As of 2012.1.11

Use of the S. Takata Memorial Research Library is restricted by library rules in principle to graduate students and faculty members. This policy is based on the thinking that the library cannot be opened to undergraduates due to the structural limitations of Building 2 and the need to maintain the environment of a research library. Of course, by following a standard procedure, undergraduates are able to use the library in cases in which the item in question is either not available or checked out at another Waseda library.

However, as we received numerous requests to use the library from undergraduates working on seminar papers, senior theses, graduate school applications, etc., the 2001 Steering Committee decided to allow continuous use of the library for undergraduates that meet certain fixed conditions and submit the attached form.

A precondition of this policy is that it will be discontinued if a problem should occur that adversely affects the maintenance of the research library environment or due to the structural limitations of Building 2.

We therefore encourage you, while considering the above information, to ask students as you think necessary to take advantage of this system.
